Sometimes you need a little sparkle to lift your spirits, or at least that’s what actress Jennifer Love Hewitt found worked for her after a bad break-up. She was down in the dumps after getting dumped when a friend offered to decorate her pelvic area with rhinestone crystals. It was just the boost Hewitt needed and when she wrote her book The Day I Shot Cupid, a story about her love life, she included a chapter about the break-up and her sparkly lady parts. The phrase ‘vajazzaling’ was born, and with it the trend to brighten-up dark places with a little bit of pizazz.
Vajazzling can be done at spas, at home, or by an aesthetician. It requires a completely bare pelvic area, so a Brazilian wax is required before hand. Once the area is smooth, crystals are glued to the skin in different shapes or patterns. 
It can last for a couple of days before a re-application is needed. Vajazzling has become popular for special occasions such as: weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, and Valentine’s Day.
