An 80% decline in male incidences of this super contagious STI over the past decade and no cases of women with crabs since 2008 has left researchers at Sydney’s Sexual Health center to conclude that better grooming is behind the decline. As women everywhere have adopted the Brazilian into their beauty regimen, crab louse populations have been left nowhere to hide. Ian F. Burgess, a medical entomologist with Insect Research & Development Ltd. in Cambridge, England calls it “an environmental disaster in the making for this species.”
